This is to all the Mamas out there who give of themselves and love their families with a special kind of love that only a mother could understand. You're the ones who carry and grow your babies for nine months, you're the nurturers, protectors, feeders, boo-boo kissers, bedtime story readers, bad dream consolers, breakfast/lunch/dinner preparers, homework checkers, clothes shoppers, stocking stuffers, party throwers, and picture takers. You're the ones who schedule your family's photo shoots, plan their outfits, bribe them with ice cream if they smile for the camera, and cry at their proof gallery reveals. You, Mamas, are the memory makers. And I salute you.
Just five months ago, I became a Grandma, and I couldn't be prouder of my daughter, Kayla, who has gracefully stepped into the role of loving mother to my sweet granddaughter. I'm so blessed to be Jules' Grammie, Kayla's Mom, and the daughter of my own amazing role model, my mother, Sue. It's such a privilege to see a new generation spring forth to carry on some of the traditions we started and start some new ones as well. I'm blessed!
So to all the mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day. May your hearts be full as you enjoy time with your loved ones.
