Welcome! I’m Kim, an active mom of six children, ranging from age 7 to 25, and a brand new grandma! The top photo was taken on my daughter’s wedding day in winter of 2017*, and it brings back a flood of sweet memories. My heart swells every time I see it, reminding me of how precious my family is and how priceless our photos are.
And the other photo? That's me and my daughter cuddling my new granddaughter. When people told me there's nothing like being a grandparent, they were right!
Through images, we relive moments that come and go so quickly. That’s why the camera has always been an extension of myself. Since junior high, I’ve always been the one with the lens in front of my face, preserving moments spent with friends and family.
When I launched my photography business in 2009 with my daughter, Kayla, not only did we set out to create beautiful portrait art for families, but also heart-warming memories to enjoy for years to come. Kayla is now married and using her talent to photograph families in the Pacific Northwest, while I'm carrying on the work that we started here in Chicagoland, with the help of a few of my little assistants.
From the first call, I'll work with you to plan a unique session built around your goals and my artistry. You'll be given ideas on displaying and preserving your images beyond just a disk of digitals. I love the family portraits displayed on the walls of my home and I wish the same for you.
In recent years, I worked hard to earn my photography certification (CPP) through Professional Photographers of America and I'm dedicated to ongoing education along with a high level of service to my clients. Over the years, Kimberlee Kay Photography has been built through referrals and repeat clients, and it has been such a privilege seeing families grow and change over the years.
Besides photographer, my other roles include wife, homeschool mom and support group leader, church volunteer, and fixer upper...all done with with a cup of coffee in my hand. I've always worked with children, as a former elementary school teacher turned full-time mom. That's probably what draws me to photographing little ones. I just love them!
I know how quickly the years go by, and whether you are parents-to-be or you already have a nestful, I guarantee you will look back someday and wonder how so many changes could happen so quickly.
It would be an honor to work with you to capture these moments so they’ll be forever etched in your heart.
